Whether you realize it or not, you probably already have a fashion angel. Essentially, I mean someone in the spiritual realm whom you sartorially idealize or from whom you draw inspiration. This could be a deceased loved one (perhaps a glamorous grandma who used to take you shopping), a deceased celebrity (Cleopatra or Cristobal Balenciaga maybe?), or a divine helper (such as Aphrodite or Archangel Jophiel, the angel of beauty). If a fashionable and/or beauty-related noncorporeal being doesn’t spring to your mind immediately, take a few moments to relax. Close your eyes and take some deep breaths, then set the intention to discover who that being is. You might say or think, “I now open myself to connecting with my fashion angel. My mind is open to discovering his or her identity, and I do so easily and quickly.” You might like to finish up with “Thank you, thank you, thank you. And so it is.”
Once you know who your angel is, you can call on him or her before you go shopping and whenever you want a little extra help getting dressed. You might just take a quick moment to silently think something like, “Grandma, please help me to find the perfect handbag at the perfect price!” or “Cleopatra, I am grateful to you for guiding me to assemble the most mesmerizing outfit that is ideal for the occasion in every way. Thank you!” You might even consider creating a little altar to your fashion angel near your closet or on your dresser. Then you can light a candle and burn incense as an act of devotion and to help keep you aligned with his or her energy.
