Certainly not a coincidence. And certainly, the Universe is telling you something.
But just what, exactly?
In my workshops, when the subject of divine messages comes up, am often asked precisely this. And with 11/11 upon us, I thought it the perfect time to explore some answers in depth.
But before I do, what do you think it means? Or, if you absolutely had to wager a guess, what would you say? Before you read the answers below, it will be beneficial to take a moment to answer. (When seeking meanings of divine messages, I always counsel doing this first, so you can tune into the frequency of the message before looking outside yourself for answers. This makes your answer more unique to you, and primes your consciousness to process what you read in a deeper and more personal way.)
OK, nice work. Now go ahead and trust your “guess.”
And here’s some more insight into this number sequence…
1111 is a number that is both strongly masculine and strongly feminine: solar and lunar, projective and receptive. The number 1 is the universal masculine number. The number 2 (as in two sets of two 1’s) is the universal feminine number. From this polarity, all things are born, so 11:11 indicates manifestation into form. Additionally, it communicates that the Universe is ready to give (blessings) if you are ready to receive them. And, conversely, that the Universe is ready to receive (your intentions) if you are ready to give them.
In the I Ching – the most famous oracle and the most ancient of all known books – a sideways version of 1111 – with two extra 1’s – makes up the hexagram for “Creative Heaven.” This is the most yang (or masculine) of all 64 hexagrams in the book, and represents divine orchestration and an auspicious infusion of divine energy into the human realm. Again, this indicates the alignment of this number sequence with powerful divine support and intervention.
The heavenly realm (with which this number is linked) is also closely related to angels and angelic assistance. But there are three angels in particular who are most strongly aligned with 1111, and all work closely with the Akashic Field, that invisible field of information-rich energy that underlies and defines all things. These angels are Haniel, Metatron, and Sandalphon:
Metatron oversees the Akashic Field and is the angel of sacred geometry, numbers, and the cosmos.
Sandalphon is Metatron’s twin and acts as an earthly anchor for Metatron’s cosmic energy.
When you see 1111 regularly, you will likely find it quite helpful and pleasant to begin working with any or all of these angelic helpers.
As a basic numeric representation of the number 4, 1111 is also a symbol of the 4 elements: earth, air, fire, and water. The fact that it appears broken down into four separate parts reminds us of the four magical components to all things in the visible world, as well as the alchemical slogan, Solve et Coagula: dissolve and reform. In this way, 1111 reminds us that we have the ability to transform challenges into blessings, and to create any condition that our heart genuinely desires, through co-creation with the Divine.
Finally, 1111 is a mathematical seed form: four basic numerical units surrounded by potentiality. This is a symbolic indication that the time is right to plant your seeds (i.e. desires and intentions) in the field of the Infinite in order to see them sprout, take root, and thrive.
In conclusion, next time the Universe shows you 1111, stop what you’re doing. Breathe, clear your mind, and plant your seeds of manifestation and positive change. Feel as if they’re already present in your life experience, and give thanks.
