Are you an incarnated member of the fairy realm? Here are 8 clues you may be a fairy-person.

But what does it mean to be a fairy person? It means you are particularly aligned with nature spirits and the ethereal realm of nature magic. You may have fairy DNA, or you may have been a fairy in one or more of your previous lives.
Do any of these describe you? If so, chances are good you are part fairy.
1. You feel irresistibly compelled to laugh, jump, squeal, or dance when you see butterflies flying and/or dolphins jumping.
…You can’t help it! These magical creatures who are so aligned with the realm of the fae just open up a sense of joy in you, and you find yourself expressing your ecstatic excitement.
2. You love shiny and sparkly things.
Sunshine on water, light on leaves, super shiny dimes, and even glittery baubles from the dollar store cause you to feel a transcendent sort of glee. That’s your sparkling fairy essence, recognizing itself in the external world.
3. You love dancing and music.
Music is a human way of realigning with the rhythm and cycles of the earth, and dancing with freedom and abandon is the act of letting go and blending your essence with the energy of All That Is: the cycle of the seasons, the music of the spheres, and the movement of the cosmos. Fairy-people recognize this as a way of remembering their natural wildness and joy.
4. You have a sweet tooth.
Sometimes it seems like you could eat chocolate, cookies, or another kind of sweet for every meal. In truth, life is sweet, and the earth is sweet, and so sweetness feels like the most natural taste to consume. [Health note: because of our difficulty in moderating our sweet consumption, it’s best for fairy-folk to eat fruit and to find or make sweets sweetened with things other than white sugar, such as agave, fruit sugar, maple syrup, and coconut sugar.
5. You often dream you can fly.
…Maybe even every night, or at least a lot of nights! And when you do, it feels like the most natural ability in the world.
6. The destruction of plants/animals/the earth causes you literal physical pain.
One of the most challenging things about being a fairy-person is that the mistreatment of your planet and fellow organisms is extremely difficult to bear. Be aware, however, that your sensitive consciousness is needed right now to reawaken our more domesticated brothers and sisters to their wild and earthly origins. So keeping your heart open and retaining your precious sensitivity is important.
7. You seem to know the medicinal and metaphysical qualities of plants and crystals without anyone telling you what they are.
When you hold a crystal or hang out with a plant, it starts to communicate with you in a deep and wonderful way that is beyond words. Not only that, but you can clearly perceive how that crystal or plant wants to help with any number of physical and/or emotional challenges. Fairy-people are wisdom keepers, and in conscious, alert communion with the natural world.
8. You have an irreverent sense of humor.
If everyone is getting too serious about something, do you feel irresistibly compelled to laugh and poke fun? That’s your fairy wisdom sparkling through, reminding you that while on one level, everything is infinitely precious, on another level, nothing is really that serious. Lightening up and laughing shakes up ego-identification and reconnect us with the truth: that we are one with everything. Not coincidentally, this is the wisdom that is most needed on earth at this time. So, fairy person, go forth and laugh!
So, do tell: have you recognized your true identity as a member of the fae?
I am faire number one I love seeing things happy 🙂
A quote from Emily of New Moon by L.M. Montgomery: “It had always seemed to Emily, ever since she could remember, that she was very, very near to a world of wonderful beauty. Between it and herself hung only a thin curtain; she could never draw the curtain aside– but sometimes, just for a moment, a wind fluttered it and then it was as if she caught a glimpse of the enchanting realm beyond– only a glimpse– and heard a note of unearthly music.” I've had "the flash" a few times.
yep i am of the fae
What a blessed soul are thee. To recognize, to acknowledge can only give rise to latent powers that have been lying in solitude for countless years . Power unto you ! I oft wonder if I am too ?
Of course you are!
Why yes, thanks for the confirmation. Blessed be.
A bit basic, but a good starting point for ones discovery of their path to their Fae identity.
How else can you figure out if you are and come in contact with your fairy side?
I very recently had a dream in which a faerie named anerva had given me blessings to be a protector of my lake. In this dream I pronounced dead to the human world and immortal to the fae. It felt extremely realistic and I have very much the same question as you in that sense.
Beautiful, Chelsea! 🙂
thats me
🙂
Ooh, I loved those books when I was little! I'm sure I would love them still. Thanks for the lovely quote and inspiration.
I can identify with all of these! I must be part Fae!
Yes, your writings about faeries feels like it's about my ancestors, it feels familiar.
I feel a connection with all of them….
Thanks so much for reading and connecting, everyone. 🙂
Great post!
Thanks, Mo! 🙂
When I read the “Mists of Avalon” and it was said that Morgraine was a descendent from the Fae, my soul felt something like it was wearing a comfortable flannel shirt or soft old blue jeans. I have always had a passion for dolphins and have them everywhere in my house; although, I live several hours from the beach. Once, as far as dolphins go, I communicate with a very kind dolphin-person who visited me in a tank. The dolphin-person was glad someone cared about her dilemma. And the part about the physical pain at the destruction of plants, animals, even rocks and crystals and gems hurts me as if I had cut myself with a knife making my dinner. My soul sings with the fairies and I am said that people think they are not real; but childish fantasy to put away when you become a teen-ager. Someday, these people will see and know the real truth.
Same! I really identified with Morgaine and the realm of the fae when I read Mists of Avalon as well. Thanks for reading and connecting!
Yes, I too felt that kindred sense if spirit when reading the Mists of Avalon. I have had flying dreams all my life. I designed and have a dolphin tattoo. I loves the outdoors and nature and always feel at home there. I too have felt the need to hide my feelings about the “fantasy realm ” and the further I went with it the more unhappy I became. Part of that having to do with my ex and his family.
I am now free of all of that and happy to re-connect with the world I belong in and finally feel at home and peace!
I’m smiling from ear to ear when i read this 🙂 One friend pointed out to me years before that i must be a fairy. I actually bought Faerie wings because it makes me really happy looking at it 🙂 🙂 🙂
Oh, and i so love chocolates and sweet stuff~
And from time to time, i go out to my garden to “share” food especially sweet stuff haha!
I sprinkle them all over the plants and the trees ^_^
Awesome, a fellow fae-person! So glad the post resonated. Thanks for reading.
I am most definitely an incarnated Fae. So glad I saw your post!
Ahh, lovely. Merry meet, Fae sister. 🙂
Hi. I just read this article. There are somethings i don’t understand about myself because im adopted. First my third eye or sixth sense is active (i can see things), i can make some animals friendly to me, i can make the wind blow and etc. i don’t know if i am a part faery or a witch. Maybe my real mom passed on some magic to me. I never met her. There are other unexplainable things happened to me.
I guess we need to stay away from vampires!
I recently had my akashic records read to me and was advised I’ve had many lives in the faerie realm and they connect with me through colours in my dreams and smells in the air. I see the connection between all things and that we are all one.
Yep, definitely sounds like you’re fae! 🙂
I believe I am one of the Fae. But at the same time I believe it’s a bit presumptuous to take that title. I hear Faeries are very prideful creatures. I’d like to add that Fae tend to have greater luck in their endeavors and a tendency to “hear” from nature, and other, pure Faeries! From advice, jokes, predictions, the Fae are always there for their own. Even if we, the “physical” Fae, chose not to listen to them.
I am definitely a fairy. Although I heard there is a subgenre of elves, which are fairy elf. This are human sized fairies.
I can identify with some of this. I do love shiny things & sweets. I marvel quietly at things I find in nature. If I could, I’d find faerie wings & spend the day just being.. Also, I identify as an empath as well as always being drawn to water. I seek out peace & calm.
I’ve always felt since a child that I was of the Fae. And, my first name, Mavis, while in French it means song bird, it is also in Gaelic, I understand, the derivative of Mab, Queen of the Faeries. So many synchronicities and I don’t really believe in coincidence. Also, I am a Cancer, moonchild and a water baby practically from birth. I weep when I see tree destruction or water pollution or plants being dug up (I’m always having to put on my “hand” blinders when I drive by those kinds of things). I love glitter and baubles and feel like a child in wonder with shiny things even though I am a grandmother. And butterflies and dolphins and birdies and dragonflies fill me with joy and happiness and I do bubble up with laughter and delight at the sight of any of those things (and yes, I talk to them, too). So, there we are….blessed be all faerie folk!
Blessed be, Queen Mab! 🙂
yes I always fly ….. and I love the statue of the fairy you put in the post do you know where I can find it? thank you
I’m sorry, I don’t. It was a photo I found somewhere.
I always felt intrinsically I was one of the Fae. Now, I KNOW I am. Thank you for this lovely post.
You captured me completely and I am jumping with joy reading this article, thinking of the possibility! The Fae, my people, yay!!
I believed then – in a deep, easy way that is impossible for me as an adult – that there was more to this world than meets the eye. Trees had spirits; the wind spoke. If you followed a toad or a raven deep into the heart of the forest, they were sure to lead you to something magical.
If everything above you said is 100% true then I am a fae, and one with still so many unanswered questions about myself.
Whoop whoop whoop whoop!!!! Love this! You are wonderful!
Awesome, Lily! Thank you!
I feel this article has described me perfectly!
I never knew why I found dimes everywhere or why I cry when I see injured or dead forest creatures. I love spinning, flying, shiny things, and all things sweet. I can’t believe I never knew until you showed me! Thank you for opening my eyes to the innner fae that’s been with me all along.
Blessed be <3
Yes, you are definitely among the fae. 🙂
My friends told me some time ago that they felt me like a fae and I started to look for information. And I found your blog! I have some of those qualities like the physical pain when nature is hurt, having this sense of humor, the happiness that’s so overwhelming whenever this wonderful creatures are around me and having this sweet tooth for fruits but I don’t feel the power of stones nor have those dreams? What does that mean?
Lots of love from South America!
Anto, you don’t have to show all the signs to know you area a faerie-person. Sounds to me like you are.
Same. My friend was the one who asked me if I’m a fairy or an angel but i think im a fairy that’s why now I’m here. 😊😊
My daughter’s first word spoked sounded exactly like a cat’s meow. As she grew older she would connect with the cats the birds the trees and flowers. She saw her guardian angel who was red haired and fairy like. She spoke to the redwood trees and felt many types of energies in everything she even said “mama everything is so charmed and magical around us”
I love this! So beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I think it’s pretty funny how everyday living can make you loose yourself sometimes, and by that I mean growing up very shy; I’d always self-doubt my self.
Thanks for making this article, that I believe helped me gain a little more confidence in my self. ✨💞🧚🏼♀️
I am a reincarnated Fae Queen that continually has visions of my former life and purpose. Thank you for continually helping guide the Fae back to themselves. Their energy is needed now, more than ever.
Blessings and love to the Fae Queen: thanks for reading and connecting. 🙂
