Right before I created this 8-minute meditation, I drove to the grocery store, but I didn’t end up going in.
Because when it came time to open my car door and make my way to the entrance, I couldn’t imagine how I could realistically ensure that I would stay a safe distance from everyone, and I didn’t want to put myself or anyone else at risk.
At that moment, the fear I was feeling made me realize how different our world is now – not just for me but for everyone. If I’m stressed out about entering the supermarket (I thought), what about the people working in the supermarket? What about the people who aren’t just worried about the process of putting food items and other necessities in their shopping carts, but also about paying for them? What about the health care workers and all the people at risk of suffering or death? And their families?
I left with no groceries, feeling pretty shaken. Once I got home, I sat down and did this exact meditation. It worked so well, I decided to create a video of it so you can do it too. It’s extremely simple because when we’re under duress we don’t necessarily want to do any complicated visualizations or longwinded affirmations.
I offer it to you with love, and I hope it brings you peace.
