Blossoming Love & Awakening Hearts
Here’s another lovely new moon post from astrologer Patti Podgornik of The Celestial Garden.
This New Moon cycle in Taurus is exact six minutes after the planet Uranus moves from Aries and into Taurus. Add Mercury and the Sun in Taurus to the mix and we are all about grounding, connecting with Mama Earth through the earthiest of Earth signs, and awakening our hearts.
The basics of this Moon cycle in Taurus are about cultivating our natural energies to blend together with others for the pleasure and higher good of everyone and everything. Our deepest desires to live in peace, to feel our belonging to the Earth and one another are part of what drives us to make our lives and the world a better place. There is also the sense that what we plant today is what we will harvest in Autumn or some other future time. This includes our thoughts, feelings, actions, choices and our sense of doing the right thing for the future – our children and future generations, including plants, animals, water, air…the Earth in her totality.
Venus is the traditional guardian of Taurus, along with Gaia, Artemis, Danu, Isis, Mother Nature and so many more powerful goddesses. This is such a lovely placement of a sign in the Moon. Life will be filled with the energies of love, sweetness, desires, beauty, and the abundance that Taurus, Venus and all the Earth goddesses, and the Moon shower on us. The key is to open our hearts to the love, joy, beauty and sparkly power of this sweetness by embracing and believing we are, each and every one of us, worthy of being loved and respected.
This Moon cycle will bring up things like our worth and worth in general, values we live by, humanitarian values, relationship differences and where we’re all the same, reform, equality, chaos, building things back up that have broken down and transformation. Sharing our voices from our hearts, focusing on equality and the choices we make, and the quality of our relationships are also important now. Consider, too, what loving rituals you have or can add to your daily life.
One of the big energetic shifts coloring this Moon cycle is Uranus into Taurus for about eight years after about eight years in Aries. Uranus is also conjunct Mercury in Taurus, adding more depth to the tones and colors of this Moon cycle, particularly in terms of communication and grounding the brilliance and beauty of our voices into our daily lives.
It’s like the last breath we take before the exact new Moon is to breathe in Mercury in Taurus and Uranus as it moves into Taurus. And that’s really important. These two powerful planets will influence this Moon cycle in Taurus, and this Moon cycle will color Mercury in Taurus and the eight-year cycle of Uranus in Taurus.
We are at a unique and super magical point in time where we are all about transformation, love, grounding our highest wisdom into the Earth and sharing our magical, human earthiness with the rest of the multi-verse.
This is a beautiful Moon cycle to work with your 4th/heart and 1st/root chakras, separately and more importantly, together. The root chakra is red and the heart chakra is green. These are complimentary, balancing colors so this is perfect for balancing our connection with Mother Earth and our heart. The heart-wisdom of Mother Earth connects us to our physical roots and all things of the Earth.
The other chakra combination that is good to work with this Moon cycle is 2nd/sacral and 5th/throat. Sacral is orange and throat is blue, again complimentary colors that balance each other. We have the creativity, abundance and pleasure of the sacral chakra working with our voice, our divine guidance and our communication in all ways.
One of the basic issues with this Uranus-New Moon connection is that yes, there are Earth values and things we live with/by, like money and banks/financial institutions. However, there’s something even more important that makes money pale in comparison. And that’s what is at the center of our hearts. How do we love and value ourselves in the sacredness we each are? How do we extend those loving values to others in sacred awareness to see and honor the sacredness is all life?
For anything to work in harmony and with kindness, tolerance and love, we must first transform ourselves, from the inside out. Each one of us must be the change we desire to see, live, experience, and share in the world.
