Find and acquire your perfect home with this powerful spell.
Few things can be as exciting – or as stressful! – as the process of finding and buying a home.
Lucky for you, you’re magical! So you can work this spell to magnetize the home that is perfect for you.
In this ritual, you’ll be working with Hestia, the Greek goddess of hearth and home.
It’s best to perform this spell on a Thursday when the moon is between new and full.
Ingredients:
Paper
Pen
Red or burgundy candle
Lighter or matches
Dinner plate
Vitex powder
Whole cloves
Wine glass
Good red wine
A wine opener
As spell preparation, sit comfortably with pen and paper. At the top, write, “OUR (or MY) NEW HOME.” Then make a list of all the features and qualities you desire in your home, including how you feel in it, how surprisingly easy it is to find and purchase, and the price range that is ideal for you. As you write, do your best to feel as if you are excitedly describing a place that is already yours. Take your time and write multiple drafts if necessary until it feels just right. Once it’s complete, feel gratitude for this home, again as if it’s already yours.
Fold the paper twice, folding toward yourself both times. Place it in the center of the dinner plate and put the candle on top. Sprinkle a small amount of cloves and vitex around the outside of the candle on the plate.
Light the candle and say:
Hestia, I call on you.
Set the wine glass near the dinner plate with candle. Open the wine and pour a glass. Say:
Hestia, I lovingly offer you this libation.
Radiant goddess, I humbly request that you help magnetize this home into our (my) life.
By your powers of warmth, laughter, sustenance, and safety, please unite us (me) with this home swiftly, perfectly, and in a divine manner.
Hestia, gratitude! For sharing your beauty and blessings! Gratitude!
If you’d like, pour yourself – and, optionally, any loved ones who will join you in the home – a glass of wine. Toast to Hestia and your new home (again, gratefully celebrating as if you’ve already found and purchased it), and drink.
Either way, allow the candle to burn all the way down. For safety purposes, it’s OK if you need to extinguish it and re-light it at intervals over the next few days.
After a few hours have passed, take the wine glass outside and offer its contents to the earth.
Continue to feel gratitude whenever you think of your move and your new home.
Brightest blessings and congratulations on your positive change!
…By the way, keep me posted! Please be sure to come back and give me an update in the comments.

Hello Tess, you always have the best advice and I love your website. My question is, what if you already have a house that is owned by family and you want to rent it. (My aunt is apparently leaving her husband and a perfectly good house to move into my grandma’s old place, while our trailer is literally falling apart around us. I don’t mean to drag on them, but I’m sick of being stepped on and I’m taking matters in to my own hands) We don’t just want this house. We need it.
Tess Whitehurst says
Hi Laura! Thank you for your kind words. I’m not quite sure what you’re asking. So there is a house you’d like to rent, and someone in your family owns it? What is keeping you from renting it? Could you clarify a little more?
Laura says
Yeah sorry my thoughts were kinda all over the place. My grandma passed away a few months back and so my uncle now owns her house. My aunt (not his wife a diff aunt) decided a few weeks ago I guess that she was gonna move in. Well her husband didn’t know any of this until my dad went over there to ask about me and my family moving in. Our current house is -literally- falling apart, like we shouldn’t be living in it falling apart and she is very much aware of that. Really outta all the family we don’t just want the house, we need it. Honestly, neither my parents nor myself have been offered anything since she died and I’m more than a little ticked. But at the moment, I’m willing to ignore it if we can just convince my uncle to let us live there.
Laura says
Any help you can offer me is super appreciated btw!! (And thank you for all your help with all the other things I’ve looked up on your site, it’s actually been a huge help to me on my journey!!)
Tess Whitehurst says
Oh OK! I see. First: I’m so sorry about your grandma. Second, I suggest doing this spell exactly as is, doing your best not to picture your grandma’s house. It’s OK if you do a little bit (it might be hard not to), but it IS possible that another perfect situation will present itself, so be open to that too. Magic is always most effective when you can leave lots of room for unexpected miracles and unforeseen opportunities. It’s also best when you remember that you are one with Infinity. Infinity is not limited, and is certainly not limited to ONE possibility.
Laura says
Hmm, yeah you’re right. I guess I let myself get stuck on it, since it feels like my family is yet again trying to screw me over. Sounds good tho, I’ll be sure to give this a go. I’ll let you know what happens. Thanks again, for your help, I’m so glad there’s people like you out there that are patient and honest and willing to help out. You are greatly appreciated. 😊💛😊 🌒🌕🌘

Thank you for this lovely spell. What do you do with the piece of paper after the candle has burned down?
Tess Whitehurst says
Hi Sara! You can just dispose of it in any way you normally would.
Tonia says
Is there a spell that helps with raising credit score?
Tess Whitehurst says
Tonia, what a great idea for a spell! I will have to write one of those one day. In the meantime, in addition to any practical/conventional methods of raising your credit score (I took a class on the topic once and learned quite a lot of helpful tips), any abundance ritual that resonates with you will help. Clearing clutter also.

My husband and I are currently looking for a new home, and I really like this spell. However, I’ve never heard of Vitex and was wondering if there was an appropriate substitute. Is there an herb or flower easily available to the southern US that would be suitable for home/hearth/Hestia? Thank you! Bright Blessings!
Tess Whitehurst says
Hi Wendy! Congrats on your positive change. Well, if it helps, it’s also called Chasteberry, and you can find it online. For example, I found some here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/261254876/chasteberry-vitex-powder-herbalist?ga_search_query=vitex&ref=shop_items_search_3. Otherwise, you can omit the herb from the ritual. Intention is extremely powerful on its own.
Christan Blanton Blanton says
I using rose, lavender, and ginger. These are substitutes I go look at the apartment I pray this work I already did a spell to invite home. Rather a prayer.
Crafty Romany says
You can buy it powdered in suppliment form. It’s a great herbal remedy to help balance your adrenals. This one is for estrogen balancing so will help with pms and regulating your menstrual cycle. It’s especially good for a crone.
Best wishes in finding your dream home. Blessed be!
celia says
How do you give thanks after the spell has worked?
Tess Whitehurst says
Great question, Celia! You could offer a libation of a bottle of beer, ale, wine, or sparkling cider by pouring it on the earth (like in the front or back yard) at the house you’ve just sold. As you do so, give thanks to the Divine for helping you sell your home, and also give thanks to your home for all the good times and abundance it’s brought you.

Hi Tess, after the candle has burned all the way down, should I just keep the plate, wax etc near my altar until I get results, and when I get the results, how shall I dispose of the items? Or should I keep them in something?
