Thanksgiving Kitchen Witchery

Swirl magic into your holiday meal.

Thanksgiving Kitchen Witchery

Whether you’re preparing one dish, two dishes, or the whole meal, here are 27 common Thanksgiving feast ingredients, along with their magical properties.

Simply being conscious of these magical properties will help awaken them in the food as you cook.

As with any kitchen witchery, it’s a good idea to take some deep breaths, clear your mind, and set a clear intention before you begin preparing a dish. Then, as you cook, send positive thoughts and feelings into the food.

This will infuse your food with magic, which you can then internalize as you eat.

Be sure to speak words of gratitude before your meal – gratitude is magic because when you take time to focus on and name the wonderful things in your life, you attract even more to be grateful for.

If you’re an absolute beginner, here’s an old video I made that will give you the kitchen witchery basics:

  1. I usually make sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving, and I plan to do that this year too. I’ll definitely add some maple syrup for the laughter, play and abundance we could all use. And of course cinnamon was already going on them, but it’s nice to know I’ll be adding all of its positive qualities also

  2. Lovely post reminding us of the long-held meanings of these ingredients. I’ll be making homemade cranberry sauce (cranberries, orange, cinnamon, clove) and an apple pie to take to dinner with family and stirring my intentions into each dish. Despite all the challenges in our country right now we have so much to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving, Tess!

  3. I’ve been wanting to sit down and compile the correspondence for all of my holiday recipes. This is lovely! Thank you!
