Inclusive Prayers for Encouragement, Healing, and Protection
No matter what’s happening in the world, you can always say a prayer.
Prayer offers all the same benefits as meditation: serenity, clarity, inspiration, stress relief, and an uplifted mood.
But there’s another gift, too — something even deeper: alignment with the sacred.
Because what is prayer, really?
It’s speaking to Divinity — and listening as Divinity speaks back. It’s asking the Infinite for help — and receiving it.
When you pray, you open a portal. You create a resonance between yourself and Spirit. You remember that you are one with The One.
And that is its own blessing.
Does prayer work? For me, absolutely. Every time. I feel better immediately. And over time, I feel more in the flow — more supported, more connected, more at peace.
Try it and see if the same is true for you.
Once a day — or most days — set aside a little time to pray. You can do this instead of meditation, or right alongside it.
Find a quiet, restful place where you won’t be disturbed. Light a candle if you’d like. And then pray.
Here are some prayers for positive change.
(Feel free to change the name for the Divine according to your preference.)
Prayer for Trusting the Process
Goddess, thank you for lifting this burden of worry from my shoulders.
It’s heavy for me, but it’s light for you, and you know just what to do with it.
I now surrender my worry fully, and trust you to handle the details.
With your help and guidance, I now relax, lighten up, and go free.
Thank you.
Prayer for Collective Healing
Great Spirit, please bring comfort to all souls.
Send your infinite light of strength and encouragement to all beings.
May every living creature feel loved.
May every living creature be treated fairly.
May every living creature be free.
May we all heal deeply and may we all know peace.
Thank you.
Prayer for Courageous Action
Divine Presence, show me what to do.
I want to help, but I don’t know how.
Look into my heart. Consider my talents and strengths. And send me opportunities to serve.
When these opportunities arise, help me to see them for what they are, and to act on them, whether they seem big or small, easy or difficult, simple or complex.
I promise to pay attention.
Thank you.
Prayer for Protecting the Earth
Divine Presence, fill and surround the earth with your protective light.
Protect all people, all animals, all plants.
Protect the soil, the air, and the water.
Help us to live harmony with our Mother Earth and to find solutions for our ecological challenges.
Show me how I can help. I will pay attention.
Thank you.
Prayer for Hope and Resilience
Divine Mother, fill me with resilience.
Remind me that the sun will rise tomorrow.
That flowers will bloom.
That coffee will brew.
That I will laugh deeply, all the way down to my gut.
Divine Mother, I know that no matter what, with your help, I can rediscover my joy.
Divine Mother, even now, I feel you filling me with hope.
And I thank you.
Prayer for Blessing the Future
Great Goddess, bless the future.
Shine light on all our tomorrows.
Help us to plant seeds of peace and possibility for our older selves and forthcoming generations.
Send your love and magic to all those who walk this earth after we are gone.
May they inherit a beautiful world.
Thank you.

I was inspired to write this post after attending one of the many Hands Off rallies held around the world on April 5th.
It was so encouraging to be around likeminded folks who banded together peacefully for positive change.
There’s another worldwide protest in the words for April 19th. Keep an eye out for a location near you.
Did you go to the Hands Off protest? Or are you planning to go to a future demonstration? What were your impressions and feelings?
Also, if you have any prayers you like to pray, I’d love to hear them. Please share below.

Thank you for these sweet short prayers. I lead a short meditation once a week for friends. These will serve us as we go about feeling confused and hopeless and angry and stuck…

Vieno, great to hear from you. I would love to do another East Coast trip. That’s great that you lead a weekly meditation. What a cool way to connect. Happy to hear the prayers will be helpful!
Thank you Tess, for kindling the light in our hearts with this beautiful and inspiring post.
I truly loved it — reading your words and saying the prayers brought such a sense of peace, joy, and connection to the Divine and good spirits . It brightened my day and reminded me of the power of turning inward and upward. Your light is a blessing, and I’m so grateful you share it with us.
Mahtab, that is truly a lovely compliment. I am receiving it gratefully! Thank you!
I love these prayers. I just rewrote a prayer based on the our father prayer and the Lord is my shepherd Psalm. On earth as it is in heaven was as above so below. I don’t have it with me now but I love the idea of prayer recently and just affirmations. Words Really are powerful and very easy mini spells. Simplicity! I have not been to the hands off rally but I’ll look into it, although I usually get nervous to go to things like this, I do like to donate though. I have been feeling lately it would be nice to connect more with like minded community.
Thank you, Brooke! Simplicity – exactly. I love it. Re: the rally, at least in my area, it was well-attended but it didn’t feel too crowded or loud like I sometimes feel at big events like concerts. It was outside by a park with plenty of grassy and shady space around, so I didn’t feel overwhelmed or stressed. And even though some of the honking and cheering was loud, it was so joyful I didn’t mind it.
