The year has a new number, the sun has just been reborn, and the lunar new year is less than a month away!
With all of this in mind, here are seven ideas to help you magically manifest your most wondrous and spectacular year yet.
Cultivate a Relationship with Ganesha
You may already know that Ganesha is the lovely and fabulous elephant headed deity of the Hindu pantheon. Known as “the remover of obstacles,” he is traditionally invoked at the beginning of endeavors and before any other divinities in order to clear the way for ideal and divinely orchestrated flow. Cultivating a relationship with him is a highly effective tactic for busting stagnation and and activating luck. To do so, bring a statue or image of him into your space. Light incense for him daily and chant a mantra for him 108 times. Here’s one you can chant along with on Youtube.
Clarify Your Intentions with a Magical Daydreaming Session
When you’re really in the zone, every aspect of manifesting is fun. It means your work is more effective because there is a lightness to your energy that allows the Divine to flow in and breathe life into your desires. And perhaps the most important – and ideally the most fun – aspect of manifesting is clarifying your intention. Not just clearly setting the intention, but also clearly seeing it, feeling it, and knowing it on the inner plane. Magical daydreaming sessions are perfect for this purpose! To engage in one, diffuse a scent (with incense or essential oil) that really sparks your sense of magic and divine connection. Play some dreamy music (this music is PERFECT for the purpose in my experience), close your eyes, and let yourself dream. Lightly and without any pressure, fashion a clear inner vision of everything you’d like to experience or move toward in the year ahead. Let the whole experience be an art project and a co-creation with the Divine. When your daydreaming session feels complete, open your eyes and write down your intentions – always in the present tense as if they’re already true.
Make an Abundance Altar
The sense of expansive wonder we feel when we tap into our creativity also taps us into our magic. As such, nothing clears the way for successful manifesting like the living, breathing, divine art project we call an altar. Moreover, an abundance altar is a wonderful way to get over the baggage so many people seem to have about money by transforming it, instead, into a sense of playfulness and fun. Remember the joy about money you felt when, as a child, you received a $20 bill as a birthday gift? Summon that joy. Then build an altar as an expression of it. You could just employ a candle as a focal point, but if you’d like to bless your altar with a divine presence of some sort, good choices might be Lakshmi, the Laughing Buddha, Oshun, or Aphrodite. (Aphrodite is obviously a goddess of romantic love, but she has also been known to bestow luxury and wealth upon her loyal devotees.)
Craft A Magical Broom for Yourself. Then Use it
A magical broom is not just a whimsical decor accent. It’s also a charm to bless your home and your life with luck, and a tool for energetic cleansing and creating sacred space. Considering that you don’t actually need to sweep with a magical broom, it can be quite easy to craft one. For example, mine is simply natural ting ting, neatly tied at the base with hemp string to fashion a handle, and adorned with ribbons and fairy bells. So make yourself a broom, bless it in the light of the full moon, and then put it to work all year to sweep stuck energy out and invite good energy in. Oh, and to use it, simply sweep the air with it. I like to move counterclockwise through the area, gleefully sweeping the air as I go.
Clear Clutter Madly, with Incense
Do you know the A-B-C’s of cultivating positive energy? Always Be Clearing. As I’m sure you know from experience, in our modern world, accumulation is a way of life. Because everything is connected, if you don’t actively counteract this dynamic, this translates to clutter and stagnation in your body, mind, spirit, career, finances, and relationships. So never stop clearing! Clear your fridge, your glove compartment, your email inbox, and under your couch cushions. And have fun with it! Put on some music, burn some incense, and get that energy moving. Create the space for pure, divine energy to flow through your home and your life. Clear, baby, clear!
Put Gold Elixir in Your Drinking Water
According to the description on Alaskan Essence’s website, gold elixir, “helps us access and express the highest aspects of our personal identity; brings strength and balance to the 3rd chakra; helps us tap into our inner truth, joy and wisdom as sources for our creative power.” Furthermore, it helps counterbalance tendencies toward, “low self-esteem; weak sense of personal identity; little or no confidence in one’s ability to create; weak or uninspired masculine energies; difficulty manifesting wants and needs into physical reality; comparing one’s accomplishments to others.” Sounds kind of perfect for that potent lucky mojo and structured motivation we’re always craving right around this time of year, doesn’t it?
Do the 1-Minute “Ego Eradicator” Meditation
The Ego Eradicator is a quick and powerful way to get your energy moving. What’s more, it instills a sense of blissful buoyancy in your body, and – with regular practice – helps propel your life into its most positive possible momentum. According to yoga instructor and Huffington Post blogger Karena Virginia in this article about the Ego Eradicator, “This simple breath can produce complicated inner changes as we let go of tension that may have been carried for years in our abdominal areas. Strong emotions may start to emerge as blocks and subconscious wounds are released and cleared.” Here’s a tutorial on how to do it, but if you don’t yet know how to do Breath of Fire, you’ll want to watch this one first.
