What we focus on expands. Try one of these gratitude rituals and magnetize even more beauty and prosperity into your life.
By now, it’s no secret that cultivating gratitude has fabulous benefits. An attitude of gratitude has been proven to improve our relationships, physical health, mental health, sleep quality, and self-esteem.
And from a metaphysical standpoint, what we focus on expands. So, since gratitude is basically a way of focusing on all the things we treasure and adore, we naturally begin to irresistibly magnetize even more to be grateful for.
Here are 5 simple gratitude rituals that will help you increase your gratitude and, in the process, attract prosperity, boost your luck, and generally get that gratitude snowball rolling.
1. Dance Your Gratitude
Try dancing your gratitude every morning for at least seven days straight. Personally, I like to do this immediately after I’ve had my morning caffeine. Simply put on a celebratory song and then dance with joy as you give thanks for all that you are and all that you have. Think of all the love in your life. Think of all that you’ve learned. Think of how far you’ve come. And remember to dance like no one’s watching! (Because they aren’t…unless of course you’re doing this with your partner or kids, which would also be a great idea.)
You’ll be amazed at how much more gratitude you feel throughout the day and how many wonderful things naturally begin to show up in your life experience.
(Here’s my favorite song for this purpose, but yours may be different.)
2. Feel Gratitude for What You Have, Then Share It
So many of us are so abundant already, we can tend to take it for granted. For example, having plenty of food to eat and clean water to drink is not something that is shared by all. And what a luxury it is! A wonderful way to celebrate the luxury of having enough is to notice something you already have an abundance of, and then share it. For example, you can donate food to a food bank, donate to a charity that feeds people, or donate to a charity that provides clean water for people who need it.
When we take action like this, it’s a powerful message to ourselves: we are already rich!
Feeling gratitude for our existing wealth, and then sharing it, is a powerful way of magnifying this feeling of abundance, which actually draws even more abundance into our lives.
3. Text Your Gratitude (for 7 Days)
Think of seven people you’re grateful to have in your life. Starting today and for the following six days, send a text to each one, letting them know how grateful you are to have them in your life. Take a moment to consider one thing you especially appreciate about them: their smile, their laugh, or just knowing they’re always there if you need to talk. Then shoot them a text from the heart, like: “I’m just thinking about you and how much I love your smile (or how much I appreciate your wisdom, how much I love laughing with you, etc.). Thank you for being in my life.”
I’ll willing to bet you’ll feel overwhelmed with gratitude by the end of the seven days, and you’ll be attracting positivity left and right.
4. Bake Something and Infuse it with Gratitude
Whether you’re a regular baker or a once-in-a-while hobbyist like I am, the next time you whip something up, feel gratitude and send it straight from your heart and into the batter or dough. Perhaps light a candle and put on some heartfelt music while you bake and keep bringing your mind around to all the sweet blessings that are already present in your life: the people, situations, items, and activities that make your heart sing. While your treat is baking, safely place your hands on the stovetop (i.e. avoid any hot burners) and send even more gratitude through your palms, directly into the center of the oven.
Of course, whomever eats the treat will internalize the gratitude and receive a magical boost of positive vibes. And all that positive energy you created will go out into the world and come back to you, multiplied.
5. Create Gratitude-Themed Art
Pretty much any art or craft can be created with gratitude in mind. So whatever you’re in the mood to create – whether it’s a garment, a collage, a blanket, a painting, an ornament, a song, or literally anything else – create it with an attitude of gratitude. Begin by thinking about all that you’re grateful for, and then let that gratitude spill over into the tangible beauty you create through your creative effort. Then wear it, hang it on your wall, use it, or better yet, give it as a gift (or multiple gifts) for the holidays. That way, you’ll be spreading not only beauty, but also the invisible power of gratitude to set in motion waves of positive change in your life, the life of your gift recipient(s), and the life of the world.
What are you grateful for? For a bonus gratitude practice and to get the ball rolling, write about your blessings in the comments below.
And please come back and comment if you try any of these gratitude rituals! I’d love to know how it went.

I’m grateful for you Tess, your generous heart and willingness to share your inner heart glow so freely. I’m also so very thankful for all the wonderful women in my life and for my family. It is such a blessing to see my children marry and have children of their own. I absolutely love the partners they have chosen and the parents that they have all become. They give me hope for the future.
