Establish serenity in your world with these simple inner shifts.
If you’re waiting for the outside world to become peaceful before you can be peaceful, you will never find peace.
But when you start with yourself, you’ll see the world through eyes of peace. In turn, the world will actually become a more peaceful place.
That’s how powerful you are: your peace sends waves of peace throughout the planet. Your present moment evolution heals the world in all directions of time.
Here are 5 subtle secrets to finding peace. Try them today and see what happens.
1. Expand Your View of Yourself.
On one level, you appear to be separate from everything, like a fragile skin puppet in a giant, unfeeling and uncaring universe. But this is a false view of who and what you are. Remaining at this level of perception understandably lends itself to constant feelings of fear, anxiety, insecurity, and loneliness.
On a much truer level, you are one with everything. Modern science backs this up by showing us that everything is energy and everything is interconnected. But you don’t have to take quantum physicists at their word: simply stepping outside and walking through a forest or standing under a sky full of stars will allow you to feel your oneness. When you go even deeper into your own consciousness through meditation or trance-inducing activity (such as yoga, ritual drumming, or ecstatic dance), you can tap into peace by directly experiencing your eternal and infinite nature.
2. See Everyone as Divine.
Just as you are one with the trees, the stars, and the earth beneath your feet, your consciousness is one with the One Consciousness, and that consciousness is shared by every human (and every living being) on earth. It is as if we are all waves of consciousness in one great ocean: we are not actually separate, but we experience the illusion of separation for a brief time.
When you place your awareness on the true, divine nature of every being you encounter, you will create healing everywhere you go. This is not about what you say or do, but about what you focus on. What we focus on expands, and by focusing on the divinity in others, you help align others with their true selves, and the healing inherent in their divine nature. And, you activate the same divine awareness within yourself. All of this establishes peace.
3. Make Friends with What Is Happening.
While you have memories of the past and ideas about the future, all of that is nowhere other than your mind. There is actually only one moment, and that moment is now. When you are out of harmony with what is happening now, you are placing yourself in opposition to the one and only moment. And that will always disrupt your peace.
Does this mean you need to passively accept conditions you don’t enjoy? Should you just give up and resign yourself to a job or a living situation you strongly dislike? No. But by saying yes to everything that is already true in this moment, you align yourself with the power of the universe. You stop the war with the present moment – which is a war you will always lose – and instead step into the power to create positive change.
Just to clarify: this doesn’t mean saying “I like this job,” when you don’t. That would also be a way of being out of alignment with what is true. What is does mean is saying, “Yes, I don’t like this job,” and “Yes, this job is the job I have right now,” and “Yes, it’s going to be fun and enjoyable to create new conditions by fully embracing where I am now as the perfect jumping off point to living my dreams.”
4. Choose Love.
An exquisitely simple way to choose what to do, where to go, and how to be is by asking yourself: is this fear or love? What is the path of love? Every time you act on love instead of fear, you transcend limitations, align with your intuition, and make choices that nourish your soul. This is because you are living from the truth of interconnection, rather than the illusion of separation. Truth resonates deep within us, attuning us to our natural power to establish peace on earth, starting with ourselves.
5. Take in the Good.
If you form your world view based on what you see on mainstream news outlets, you certainly see the world as a violent and terrifying place. But the news doesn’t show the whole truth, or even the majority of the truth. In fact, data shows that in general and across the board, human well-being is consistently improving. What’s more, beauty surrounds you at this moment. Look out the window and you’ll see the breathtaking sky. Every time you pet your cat or hug a loved one, you can consciously place your awareness on your heart lighting up with joy.
Paying attention to the good and the beautiful is a habit just like any other: the more you do it, the more natural it will become, and the more inner peace and serenity you will feel.
