Holding positive regard for your body has so many benefits, including alignment with your intuition, mindful presence, personal power, and a general feeling of happiness to be alive.
Body positivity is an ongoing practice, and one I have been learning in increments. And, because of relentless cultural body shaming, it’s also a practice you must continue to show up for day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year.
If you feel drawn to go more deeply into this topic, here are some books that have been helpful to me on my journey.
I also recommend the audio program, The Joyous Body.
Here’s my MAGIC OF FLOWERS ORACLE.
And here’s my new one: THE ORACLE OF PORTALS.

I remembered when I was in my college days working with fashion photographers, makeover specialists, and I was on the team as a hair and makeup artist. There was an older gruff photographer, image creator who created some of the most gorgeous photos of women of all ages and types. Some of the women even ended up in playboy and had modeling portfolios created by him. He was an expert at bringing out the potential and character of his subjects. He looked at me and gave me advice about what would work for my hair type, figure, facial structure, and personality. He got it right on the nose, till this day I am true to my cat woman slightly gothic, mysterious vibe. This person told me to not copy or overly follow blindly fashion, or icons. He told me to be an original, because eventually we all age and the core essence is what is left. I met his wife and she was not a model or sexy pin up girl. She was over 40 years old, petite, and elvish looking. She looked almost like a kindly fairy dressed in romantic frock and natural light makeup and shiny shoulder length hair. I learned that sometimes the best beauty secrets are intangible and come from that essence inside and working with it. Now I’m older and gently color rinsing my white streaks ruby red mixing with my long dark hair. I chose to not cover all my grey but to accent it with some ruby rinses. I’ve gotten lots of compliments from all ages. My whites peek out and some people ask why I don’t cover them, I smile and say “I’m enjoying my calico colring”. My husband loves this look on me.
