From the perspective of eternity, none of our lives are ever going to “amount to something.” And that’s just fine.
Do you know what I mean about the uniquely inspiring feeling that descends around this time of year? Please share your thoughts in the comments below!

Beautiful. I remember the celebrations of my youth. My parents would drive far to attend various Asian festivals and we would dress up in our colorful ceremonial outfits. My long dark hair would be adorned with various sparkling jewels and ornaments. The food vendors , the smells, the colorful lanterns, the prayers and dancing to drums, flutes, stringed instruments remain in my memories. My daughter also got to experience it too. One night in the sky we saw many faces in the clouds and took a picture. The photo showed a giant Buddha surrounded by smaller faces. That night my daughter saw someone standing next to me and asked who that nice lady was. I saw in the corner of my eye in a flash my sister’s deceased mother-in-law. I missed her and wished she could’ve seen my daughter all dressed up in traditional wear. Later that night I went to sleep and had a vivid dream about my late grandparents. They came descending from a cloud and saw my daughter and smiled. They said that she was beautiful and that I did good. With tears in my eyes I asked them to show me where they were going. They said that I cannot go yet but they could show me visually. I saw in a flash beautiful gardens, a soft glowing light, animals, ethereal feeling. Then they said that they couldn’t stay and faded away. The next day I told my mom about the dream. She said that all our loved ones that passed into the light can sometimes visit us during these seasonal celebrations.

So very beautifully expressed, Tess. I also feel the energetic shift each year in the fall that always feels somewhat nostalgic to me and deeply profound.
