Here’s a simple tarot or oracle deck spread for reaching a goal or manifesting a desire.
Manifesting is not just about the stuff. It’s not just about the car or the relationship or the job or the money (or whatever it is), although all that stuff is all fine and great.
On an even deeper level, manifesting is about the journey and about the way your soul unfolds in the process: the ways you get to know yourself, learn to love yourself, and become more of who you already are.
Here’s a way you can work with your tarot or oracle deck to receive guidance about manifesting a particular desire:
Sit comfortably, facing east. (You can use the compass feature on your smart phone if necessary.) Take some deep breaths, relax your body, and center your mind. Optionally, light a candle and maybe some incense.
Hold your tarot or oracle deck in both hands and envision light coming down from the cosmos and into the crown of your head. Also envision light coming up from the center of the earth and into your feet, legs, and tailbone. Inwardly see or sense this light coming into your heart from above and below, moving down your arms, into your hands, and filling the deck.
Think of a goal or desire. Imagine what it will feel like for this desire to be manifested. Feel the joy and expansion of it. Feel gratitude for it. Send these feelings from your heart into the deck.
Ask, silently or aloud: what guidance will most support me in reaching this goal (or manifesting this desire)?
Shuffle your deck. When you feel like stopping, set it down and cut the deck once or twice. Then take the first four cards from the top, placing them as follows:
Card 1: Guidance for getting started: how can you get the ball rolling or begin to give birth to this desire or goal?
Card 2: Guidance for kindling the flame: how can you move toward this goal with passion and enthusiasm? What will help you bust through blocks and awaken your inner light throughout the process?
Card 3: Guidance for staying connected to your authenticity and joy: what truly motivates you, and how can you tap into that intrinsic motivation in a way that keeps you flowing toward your desire like a river flows toward the sea?
Card 4: Guidance for staying the course: what will help you to show up for yourself repeatedly and take action in the physical world in order to nourish your goal, desire, or dream for the long haul? How can you root your goal deep into solid ground and fertile soil so it can expand, flourish, and blossom?

Hi Tess! Stumbled across this tonight. Absolutely love your article! You were able to eloquently express something I’ve been working on myself – how to define manifestation.
This is not a simple process of instant gratification. It is an ongoing process of looking inward, truly discovering who you are, and figuring out how to live an aligned life that matches you to the core.
This was a joy to read, and I’m so excited to try this card spread for myself tonight. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
