Embrace the Magic of the Season: Purify, Balance, Divine, Nourish, and Reflect.
The leaves have begun to turn brilliant shades of crimson and gold. A gentle chill fills the air.
Here we are, at the threshold of the Autumn Equinox: a uniquely transformational and magical time.
This point on the wheel of the year holds a special place in our hearts. As we bid farewell to the abundance of summer, we welcome the serene beauty of autumn: the season of harvest, gratitude, and inner alchemy.
In this post, we’ll explore the essence of the Fall Equinox and Mabon and discover ways to embrace its energy through five magical dynamics that are particularly present at this time: purification, balance, divination, nourishment, and reflection.
Purify
1. Smoke Cleanse
You might want to begin your Autumn Equinox journey by cleansing your home with the smoke from sage, cedar, or another fall-appropriate botanical. Allow the sacred smoke to cleanse and purify the energy, inviting in positivity and releasing any stagnant vibrations.
Here are 9 Fall-Friendly Botanicals for Cleansing, Clearing, and Uplifting the Vibe.
2. Declutter
There’s no wrong time to declutter your living space, but the balance and harmony that follow in the wake of decluttering make it ideal for this time of year. So let go of what no longer serves you, open up to the fresh vibes of the changing season, and create the space for blessings to flow.

3. Energy Cleansing Bath
Take a soothing bath infused with Epsom salt, a sprig of fresh rosemary (or a pinch of dried), and two or three drops of lavender essential oil. (Be careful if you have sensitive skin.) Visualize the water dissolving away any stuck or challenging energy, leaving you feeling refreshed and renewed, ready for all the fresh new vibes waiting for you in the season ahead.
Balance
1. Create an Equinox Altar
Bring the outdoors inside by crafting a nature-inspired altar. Employ leaves, acorns, and/or autumn flowers. Add one light-colored candle and one dark-colored candle to represent the harmonious balance between day and night.

2. Yoga and Meditation
Embrace the equinox’s equilibrium by practicing yoga poses that focus on balance, like Tree Pose. Meditate on the concept of balance in your life and set intentions to align with it.

3. Feng Shui Adjustments
Use feng shui principles to harmonize your home’s energy. Rearrange furniture or add elements like candles and crystals to create a golden ambience and earthy equilibrium.

Divine

Pull out your tarot deck and perform a special equinox reading. Focus on questions related to balance, gratitude, and the season’s energy.

2. Rune Casting
Try rune casting to gain insight into the mysteries of this time. Each rune carries ancient wisdom and can provide guidance on your path.
3. Pendulum Divination
Use a pendulum to tap into your intuition and receive guidance.

Nourish
1. Apples and Sweetness
Invoke sweetness and harmony by making apple-centric dishes like apple pie, apple cider, or an apple crisp.
2. Pumpkins and Abundance
Internalize the wealth magic of pumpkins with pumpkin soup, roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin martinis, or pumpkin spice lattes.
3. Root Vegetables and Grounding
Get grounded, centered, and connected to the earth by preparing hearty meals with root vegetables like carrots, beets, and sweet potatoes. Roast them with herbs and serve over grains for a flavorful fall experience.
Here’s lots more fall kitchen witchery ingredients along with their metaphysical properties.
Reflect
1. Gratitude Journal
Begin a gratitude journal and list three things you’re thankful for each day. The autumn equinox is the perfect time to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
2. Seasonal Poetry
Write a poem inspired by the changing leaves, the harvest, or the sense of balance in your life. Allow your creativity to flow like the autumn breeze.
3. Life Review
Take a moment to review your goals and aspirations for the year. What have you accomplished, and what still calls to your heart as the year draws to a close? Reflect on your journey with gratitude and intention.
As we embrace the alchemy of the Autumn Equinox, we celebrate the flow of time and the ever-turning wheel of the year. May this season bring you balance, clarity, and a deep sense of connection to the beauty of the natural world.
Wishing you a joyful and magical Mabon! and may your autumn be filled with magic and transformation. 🍂🌕🍁

I am preparing for fall celebration. My recent meditations were powerful and so loving. All the intense visions led me to incorporate some yoga to ground the energies. Recently I felt the energy of yogananda an ascended master, Jesus, Mary, I’ve always connected with archangel Michael and angelic realm. I even felt the saint francis when praying for healing for my two cats, especially the one cat who had emergency surgery recently. My calico cat is healing very nicely. I thank you for sending healing to my cat and I. The visions and retrogrades blasted open my heart chakra and thymus chakra. It literally felt vibrating and radiating out so much feeling.

Yes, so much! So much energy. I agree. And I love working with Saint Francis for animal healing too.
