Here are three rituals that will help you heal your heart and move on.
There’s no doubt about it: breaking up really is hard to do.
But even though a breakup can make you feel like you’ll be hurting forever, you won’t be.
You can heal, and you will heal. You’ll emerge stronger and wiser than you were before. And you’ll have the opportunity to know yourself better, love yourself more, and attract a much better relationship than the one you just got out of.
These three spells will help. Do one or do them all.
Spell #1: Cut the Cords and Cleanse Your Energy
After a breakup, you will feel so much better when you cut the energetic cords between you and your ex-partner. This cord-cutting spell will clear your mind and open you up to a beautiful new future. This ritual also cleanses and calibrates your energy field to remove challenging old energy and reset your inner equilibrium.
Ingredient: a selenite wand
While the moon is waning, empower your selenite wand by placing it in bright sunlight for at least 2-3 minutes.
Go somewhere private where you won’t be disturbed. If you’d like, you can light a white or off-white soy candle and burn cleansing incense such as cedar, frankincense, or sage.
Call on the Divine in a way that feels powerful for you. Speaking from your heart, state your clear intention to cut the cords of attachment between you and your former partner, and to cleanse and heal your energy field.
Stand in a comfortable, grounded stance with your feet hip-distance apart and your legs slightly bent. Close your eyes and take three deep, conscious breaths. Continue breathing consciously until you feel very centered and calm.
Steadily wave the selenite wand in a downward brushing motion about six inches away from your body. Imagine, feel, and sense that the wand is acting like a knife, severing the energetic connections between you and your former partner. Be sure to move the wand around your entire body: front, sides, and back.
When this feels complete, repeat the waving motion, this time imagining, sensing, and feeling that you are cleansing, repairing, and smoothing your energy field.
Give thanks to the Divine for your clean and fresh energy field. Feel yourself glowing with healthy, radiant light.
You can repeat this spell every day or as needed.

Spell #2: Heal a Broken Heart
Grief and heartache are a part of life. And we must feel them in order to heal them. Still, this flower potion will help you open up to the healing process and move it along in the best possible way.
Ingredients: rose flower essence (please note that a flower essence is not the same thing as essential oil), a water bottle filled with drinking water
On a the morning of a full moon (the day of the full moon or the day after will do), go somewhere where you can view the sunrise and face east. Sit comfortably and take some deep breaths as you settle into your body and cultivate a sense of grounded calm.
As the sunlight becomes visible on the horizon, say:
Sun, I greet and honor you. Just as you rise every morning with renewed splendor, wholeness, and hope, may my heart be similarly renewed.
Put three drops of rose flower essence in your water and drink deeply.
Thank the sun.
Continue to drink the water throughout the day until it’s gone. For the next 7 days, put three drops of rose flower essence in a bottle of drinking water and drink it throughout the day.
Spell #3: Renew Your Joy
A painful life change such as a breakup often comes along with a decrease in everyday enthusiasm and inspiration. This spell will help bring back your joy.
Ingredients: neroli essential oil, sweet orange essential oil, lemon essential oil, an aromatherapy diffuser
Sit comfortably in front of your altar or somewhere else where you won’t be disturbed. Take three long, deep breaths. Let your breath go back to normal, but continue to pay attention to when you breathe in and when you breathe out. Also bring awareness to your body and allow it to relax.
When you feel centered and relaxed, hold all three bottles of essential oil in both hands. Call on the Divine in a way that feels powerful for you. From your heart, speak your clear intention to renew your sense of positivity, excitement, and joy.
Imagine very bright, golden white light coming up from the core of the earth and entering your energy field through your feet, legs, and tailbone. Also imagine very bright, diamond white light coming down from the sky and entering your energy field through the crown of your head. Sense and envision these lights merging and mixing at your heart area, then pouring down your arms to your hands and entering the bottles.
Pour this Divine light into the bottles through your hands and imagine a sphere of pulsating, golden white light filling and surrounding them. When this feels complete, give thanks to the Divine.
Every day, at home or at work, for at least an hour or two, diffuse equal parts of the essential oils in your space. (The total amount of oil will depend on your oil diffuser.) Repeat every day for 28 days.

Hi Tess. I’m just discovering Wicca. I picked up Tarot cards. But the messages I get are confusing. I use a circle and a benediction, and it’s still confusing….help?

Hi! Sorry I missed your last comment. The answer is: of course!

I forgot to ask you does the Wicca religion allow members of the LGBTQ+ community to join?

Hello, I am new to Wicca. I was wondering what to do if someone who is not a Wiccan sees a pentagram and freaks out? And what do I do if my parents think Wicca is Devil Worship? Also what do you say when you meet a Wiccan? Thank you.
Tess Whitehurst says
Hi! Welcome to the magical path. Well, the pentagram answer will depend on the situation and person. It may be wise to lovingly describe what the pentagram means to you, and then be willing to accept whatever response you receive. Not everyone will be receptive, but some will. I’m not sure how open your parents will be to educating them that Wicca is not devil worship, but you can certainly provide resources for them, such as the books The Spiral Dance by Starhawk or Wicca, a Guide for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham. Or, you might like to keep your practice hidden until you are out of the house. Some practitioners choose not to share their paths with their parents even then. And if you realize that someone else you meet is Wiccan, you may just say, “Blessed be,” or something more casual and natural like, “Oh, I’m Wiccan too, yay!”

Love your blog & channel. Peace ✨💛

Lisa, you can in a pinch, but fresh ones are more powerful. And thanks for the kind words about the blog & channel. 🙂
