The basic I discuss in this video is one I absolutely recommend returning to every day. (Literally every single day!)
I was a competitive gymnast in my youth. And even when I got to the point where I was doing fairly advanced moves, my coaches still had me go through all basics during every single practice, like cartwheels, handstands, and simply walking back and forth on the balance beam.
Magical spirituality is the same. Whether we’re a beginner or a veteran, we need to regularly return to the basics, because they’re the solid framework on which everything else is built.

I’ve never been athletic or coordinated since childhood. Dance moves are complex and I’ve shied away from doing these things in public. I also have several injuries which limit my range of movements and cause pain when stressed. I used to go to the gym cautiously lift weights but felt intimidated by everyone and everything there. A few months before the pandemic appeared I suddenly felt like avoiding the germ filled gym and quit. Then Covid came and Meditation, writing, cooking, organizing, took over. I want to go back to exercising and strength training but need to proceed cautiously. Seeing social media bombards me with endless exercise styles, overwhelming me. I end up retreating into safe activities. I feel like I need to work on my body and incorporating the spiritual with it. I wish I could dance and be flexible and rhythmic but I had a hard time following dance moves and ended up giving up. I used to be able to at least set aside time to workout but lately I have lost that routine, being distracted by work, house work, chores, meditation healing practices, or pure escapism. I wish to heal this part of me that flees from facing exercise and challenging my injured body. My husband suggested that I go back to rehab basic exercises and discipline myself to perform it. Just like spiritual has basics , it is all interconnected.

Redhen, I know it’s not for everyone, but I love FitnessBlender.com. Have you tried it? There are lots of free workouts, but I pay like 70 bucks a year to get the extras. It costs way less than a gym and it’s easier for me to just to work out at home anyway. (They don’t pay me to recommend them or anything.) You can check it out here: https://www.fitnessblender.com

Thank you. Recently I did a healing ritual for my mental emotional resistance to working out. I reikied, sent a prayer, lit a candle, did a grid for wellness and blessed all my mini weights, exercise gear, and my iPhone and ipad. I found a safe mobility exercise and began journaling my exercise journey. I also decided to toss out all the dingy old torn workout clothes and invest in some new ones. Recently I purchased a rose quartz facial roller and blessed it and charged it in a permanent grid for it. Whenever I use it I feel so joyous. I can’t explain it but together with my sacred facial potion feels so glowing and alive. My body feels so happy and it shows in the way I am less stiff and my skin more rosey. I will try to incorporate bodywork into my day to day living. I am deciding to do my gentle rehab exercises again. It’s funny how anything spiritual or magical is a natural flow for me, but anything physical is challenging, and I am at the very basic beginner’s level. Again thank you for your inspiring words.
