The spiritual path is not a mountain and we aren’t going to get to the top.
In this video, I explain why I think we should ditch the whole concept of “enlightenment.”
Do you agree with my thoughts on this? Disagree? Have you ever thought about this before? Please chime in below.

Hi, Tess! I brought up the topic of enlightenment during this workshop and I’m so grateful that you decided to share this with others. I’ve been proactive about banishing unrealistic expectations that have become commonplace in new age spirituality. It’s one obstacle that I can rid myself in order to truly grow. Thank you for focusing on the important of an often overlooked subject.

Brianna, thank you for reminding me it was you! And thank you for bringing up the topic! I appreciate you giving me the idea to talk about this.

I agree with all of your points here, Tess. Another way of saying it is what I got from Bob Makransky:
“Feeling relaxed and in good shape even in the midst of a maelstrom is called ‘enlightenment’. Enlightenment doesn’t mean light as opposed to dark; but rather light as opposed to heavy.”
When I used to do readings for people, I got really good at it. After I quit for a while, not so much. Gurus, teachers, authors or anyone working with other people’s spirituality work on specific things for a long time. They get really good at those specific things, though one size never fits all. Eclecticism is the only mountain to engage with and you alone find the path up, around, over or through it. Individuation is another term that I use as Jungian thought is my fave. I think of Wicca as folk psychology and Carl Jung had it right.

Ron, yes! I agree with all your points too.
