I have done posts about DIY feng shui before (like this one or this one for example) – plenty of them, actually. Not to mention the numerous books I’ve written on the topic! But today I had the idea to go step by step in my blog posts, with one DIY feng shui assignment or kernel of wisdom per post, for as long as I feel like continuing. Some days the tip might be extensive, and some days it might be very short and sweet. The idea is to allow space around the tips, and to give them their own post, so that you can go more deeply into the concepts and practice of feng shui by taking time with each tip and imbibing the information over time.
…And, of course, we must start with this tip:
Clear Your Clutter!
Even if you’ve cleared clutter before, if you haven’t done so for a while, or if you haven’t cleared all the extras from every area that belongs to you – including your car, storage space, anyone else’s storage space where your stuff might be located, etc. – then it’s definitely time to do so again. This is because clutter is stagnant energy in the physical world, and it always represents, indicates, and holds in place stagnant energy in the non-physical world. Because the physical and non-physical worlds are inextricably intertwined, this means that physical clutter causes congestion in every area of your life: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual. The idea is that your natural state is one where sparkling, beautiful, abundant life force energy flows through and nourishes each and every aspect of your life experience. Releasing the extras will allow you to return to this ideal, natural state while paving the way for perfect success in all your subsequent feng shui endeavors.
You might think of it as clearing your throat before singing a solo in a musical, or clearing the table before entertaining. Basic, yes. Necessary? Most definitely, yes.
