Easy little rituals to help you feel better ASAP
Let’s be real — these are strange and tender times.
If you’ve been feeling scattered, drained, or heavy-hearted, you are definitely not alone.
But here’s the thing: you are magical.
And even on the hardest days, tiny spiritual practices can work wonders. Like little spells of comfort, clarity, and protection, they remind us who we are and help us feel at home in the world again.
Here are 20 easy things you can do to protect your energy, spark your inspiration, and invite a little everyday magic back in.

1. Bubble of Light Visualization
For protection and positivity, I like to do this one every single morning, but you can do it at night, midday, whenever.
Relax and take a few deep breaths. Ask the Divine to vacuum your aura of any and all stuck or challenging energies. (I imagine an etheric vacuum tube of light doing this.)
Then, ask the Divine to completely fill and surround you with a bubble of golden-white light, in which only love remains, through which only love may enter.
Imagine blinding light (like the sun) filling your every cell and expanding around you in a sphere. Breathe deeply, feeling perfectly cleansed, shielded, and safe.

2. Shower of Power
The next time you take a shower, take it with intention.
Light a candle if you’d like, and maybe burn some incense or diffuse some essential oil. Say a prayer or invocation beforehand, asking the Divine to clear your aura and give you an energetic boost.
Then, as you shower, visualize stuck, heavy, or stressful energy washing away and spiraling down the drain. Imagine and sense your energy becoming brighter and clearer by the second.
3. Emotional Support Crystal
Empower a crystal with a simple intention for inspiration, comfort, wealth, success, or turning your mood around – whatever feels right.
First, choose a crystal from your collection, or go shopping for a new one. Look for one that seems to particularly glow, sparkle or sing – something that feels alive and vibrant to you now.
Any crystal that feels right will do, but here are some ideas: clear quartz for energy and focus, rhodochrosite for sweetness and harmony, rose quartz for soothing and comfort, black tourmaline for protection and stress relief, garnet for grounding and strength, aventurine for heart healing and wealth, larimar for optimism, lightness, and joy.
(Here are 44 more crystals and how to use them in your magical work.)
Now, go outside. Hold it in your open palm while bathing it in sunlight or the light of the moon. As you sense the crystal soaking up empowering magic with the light, speak to it, whisper to it, or telepathically communicate with it. Tell it your intention and ask it to help you hold that intention whenever it’s near.
Keep the crystal near you (in a pocket or pouch) throughout the day and place it on your nightstand or under your pillow at night.
4. Elemental Alignment Practice
You can do this anytime/anywhere to ground your energy and soothe anxiety worried mind. It’s a mindfulness practice with an earth-based spiritual twist.
First, silently repeat the word “Earth, earth, earth, earth, earth.” As you do so, notice the feeling of gravity anchoring you into the earth. Also look around for representations of earth you can see in your immediate environment, like stones, trees, dirt, potted plants, pictures of nature, earthy colors, or even the floor.
Next, silently repeat the word “Air, air, air, air, air.” As you do, notice the feeling of air moving in and out of your lungs. Also look around for symbols and examples of the air element in your environment, like birds or bird imagery, feathers, clouds, wind chimes, wind moving through leaves outside, or flying insects.
Now, silently repeat “Fire, fire, fire, fire, fire.” As you do, see if you can detect the heat in your body and the beating of your heart. Look around for representations of fire in your environment: lights, candles, sun or sunlight, stars or star shapes, and bright fiery colors like orange and red.
Finally, silently repeat “Water, water, water, water, water.” As you do, notice the feeling of fluidity in your body. Consider your tears, sweat, and the blood moving through your veins. Look around for water and representations of water you can see around you, like sinks or faucets, ponds or rivers, rain, your water bottle, and imagery of fish or the sea.
Notice how different you feel.
5. A Little Mint Magic
Put a small spearmint or peppermint plant in a pot and place it by your front door, or you could put it in a sunny window in your workspace.
Ask the little plant spirit to help energize you, attract money, and soothe your worried mind.
Every time you water it or it catches your eye, sense how it emanates calming energy and luck.
As it grows, you can pluck a little leaf now and then, rub it between your fingers, and inhale the scent for the purest and most ancient form of aromatherapy there is.
Here are some other great herbs for protection magic.
6. Cord-Cutting Visualization
If you’re stressed about something specific, or if you feel like someone is draining your energy, try this.
Close your eyes, relax, and take some deep breaths. Visualize a cord of energy between you and the person or situation. Then, ask the Divine to cut that cord. Feel and sense your energy whooshing back to you as vitality and light. Take some more deep breaths to stabilize and recalibrate.
Ask the Divine to fill and surround you with golden white light to prevent that cord from coming back.
7. Sound Clearing Practice
To clear and uplift the energy indoors, ring a chime, bell, or singing bowl, or simply clap loudly in the corners and around the perimeter.
Notice how much calmer and clearer you feel in the space.
8. A Nice Cup of Tea
For a soothing energy reset, first, turn your phone off or put it in the other room.
Place your hand on your heart and earnestly say to yourself quietly or aloud, “You know what you need, dear? A nice cup of tea.”
(Just try it! No one needs to know.)
Then put the kettle on and brew up chamomile and/or lavender tea for relaxation, peppermint for fresh perspective, hibiscus for courage, green tea for wealth, or black tea for grounded energy. Add a bit of sweetness or lemon, according to your preference.
Sit somewhere pleasant and mindfully enjoy. Notice the comfort radiating from the cup along with the warmth.
9. Simple Protection Charm
So many natural objects can serve as a lovely protection charm, like a clove of garlic, a peach pit, or a pinecone. You can also tuck dried herbs – like yarrow, valerian, or elecampane – into a muslin bag.
Choose one, empower it by holding it in sunlight, and ask the Divine to bless it with your protective intention of choice. Then, carry it with you – tuck it in your pocket, wear it in a pouch around your neck, or tie it in fabric and pin it to the inside of your clothes.
Here are 5 more simple protection charms.
10. Call Your Energy Back to You
When I co-hosted a podcast with my friend Natasha Levinger, we would always take turns saying a blessing before we began recording. Her blessing would always include “We now call our energy back to us from anywhere we may have left it.” I loved that concept – that I may have left my energy in a time or place, and that even if I didn’t know what that time or place was, it was my energy! So I could call it right back to me. I would always imagine it rushing back to me in one fell swoop.
Try saying “I now call my energy back to me from anywhere I may have left it,” before you go to sleep, when you get home from work, or anytime you feel you may have left your energy tied up somewhere else.
See? You can take just a little bit of time for magical self-care, and it will make all the difference.
I hope you liked this post, because I have ten more of these on deck for you. Stay tuned.
Are you going to try any of these? Or do you have similar practices to share? Don’t be shy – chime in below.
P.S. If you have my Oracle of Daydreams and Moonbeams, will you please write it a review? Thank you, thank you. ❤️
