The 9 Best Feng Shui Tips for Success
Discover the 9 best feng shui tips for success to boost career growth, attract prosperity, and create momentum in your home or office.

Success isn’t only about effort — it’s also about alignment.
Feng shui teaches that your surroundings are not neutral. They are alive with energy, constantly influencing your focus, confidence, clarity, and opportunities. When your environment supports you, forward movement feels natural. Doors open. Ideas flow. Progress accelerates.
If you’ve been working hard but feeling stalled, it may not be about doing more. It may be about adjusting the energetic current around you.
These simple feng shui practices are designed to clear stagnation, strengthen your personal power, and position you for meaningful accomplishment — whether that means business growth, career advancement, creative recognition, or simply feeling effective and capable in your daily life.
Let’s align your space with success.

Feng Shui Success Tip #1: Make sure your address numbers are visible and attractive.

Feng shui teaches that prominent and attractive address numbers allow success and wealth to find you easily. So make sure yours are big and beautiful. Also be sure they are not positioned vertically or angling downward from left to right, as this will bring the attention and energy down. Horizontal or upwardly-slanting numbers are more joyful and uplifting.
Feng Shui Success Tip #2: Sit in the power position.

When your back is facing the door, it requires an extra second or two (and it’s a literal pain in the neck) to see who is entering. When the door is visible from your desk, or really anywhere in your home or business where you regularly spend time, you naturally feel much safer and more in control of your environment. Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, week by week, this adds up to a major confidence boost, which has vastly positive effects on your overall success.

Feng Shui Success Tip #3: Make your front door obvious and welcoming.

Especially for businesses, when the front door is hidden or its location is not clear, this is a major feng shui challenge.
The same is true for your home – in a less dire but still significant way. Customers and clients like to see, and imagine themselves walking into, a welcoming front door. This mitigates confusion and enhances the likelihood that helpful people, customers, and success in general will enter your business, home, and life. It’s also one reason painting a door a bright color is a good idea: it makes the door more obvious.
A large and vibrant doormat can also help with this.
If your front door is not easily visible, the next best thing is highly noticeable signage that obviously directs visitors to your door.

Feng Shui Success Tip #4: Clear your clutter.

Clearing clutter is likely the most powerful of all nine feng shui tips.
Additionally, clearing the stuff you don’t use, need, or love frees up a ton of time. There is so much less to clean and you spend so much less time searching for things! Not to mention it clears your head and makes you feel a lot more effective.

Feng Shui Success Tip #5: Keep it clean.

Obviously, a clean home or business helps keep your mind clear, inspired, and focused. But it does something else too: it enhances your confidence. And enhanced confidence must not be underestimated when it comes to stepping into greater and greater levels of success.
Here are some ways to have fun with cleaning and make it into a magical act.

Feng Shui Success Tip #6: Display Positive Images Only.
Here’s a fundamental feng shui truth: imagery is powerful.
If an image portrays constructiveness and connection, it will foster these qualities in your life and work. Look at all the artwork and imagery in your home or business to make sure it reinforces – and certainly doesn’t detract from – a feeling of success.
Whether it’s figurative or abstract, ask yourself: “If I had to tell a story about this picture or sculpture, what would it be?” To reinforce your goals, dreams, and desires, make sure all your stories about your artwork are stories you’d like to be true about your life.

Feng Shui Success Tip #7: Smile.

Consider the Chinese proverb, “A man without a smiling face must not open a shop.” Think about it. It’s enduring because it’s true.
Open up to the flow of success by smiling regularly.
On the phone, smile with your voice. In written and electronic communication, smile with your phrasing. Upon awakening, smile to the Universe.
Feng Shui Success Tip #8: Get a success greeter.

Have you ever noticed the waving cats at many Asian restaurants? Those are depictions of Maneki Neko, the fortune-beckoning cat.
Similarly, Indian shops and eateries sometimes display Ganesh, the elephant-headed deity who removes obstacles and clears the way for success; or Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and luxury.
But even things like meditating frog statues, cheerful garden flags, or the inflatable dancing men often seen in front of car dealerships are success greeters, as they cheerfully welcome in people, positive energy, and prosperity. Practice good success feng shui by finding a success greeter you love.
Feng Shui Success Tip #9: Cover your television and turn your phone off periodically.

When your TV is off, its vacant black screen beckons you to turn it on. This encourages excess TV watching, which in turn discourages the hard work and focus required for success.
So hide your television with a tapestry, a divider screen, a curtain, or a television lift cabinet.
Similarly, constant awareness of the potential for communication and entertainment from your phone disrupts both focus and creativity. For creativity, your brain needs periods without your phone so it can ruminate and go deep. For focus, your brain needs periods without your phone so it can stay engaged in what you’re doing and locked into whatever singular task you are required to complete.
So put your phone on airplane mode or turn it off altogether, and then put it in the other room (or at least completely out of sight), particularly when you are hard at work on a project during which you don’t want to be disturbed.

Hi Tess!
Where should the greeter be placed? Should it be on the porch just outside the door? Or just to the right of the entryway coming in? My home has a little odd configuration since I have an enclosed patio that we have put a gazebo on which sticks out a little, and therefore I think the area just outside of the door is supposed to be included in the Bagua as well.
