The 9 Best Feng Shui Tips for Wealth

Want to attract more abundance? These 9 feng shui tips for wealth can help your home support a healthier, more prosperous financial flow.

What if a few simple changes to your home could help you attract more wealth and abundance? That’s exactly what feng shui is all about.

Feng shui is the ancient Chinese practice of arranging your environment so that energy — known as chi — can flow freely and positively through your space. And when it comes to money, your home may be helping you thrive financially… or quietly working against you.

The good news is that you don’t need to redecorate from scratch or become a feng shui expert to start noticing a difference. These 9 straightforward tips will help make sure your environment is actively calling in abundance and supporting a healthy, prosperous financial flow.

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #1: Make your front door sparkle.

Your front door is the place where blessings and abundance enter your home and your life.

That’s why, in Feng Shui, your wealth corresponds with the appearance and condition of your front door.

A clean, bright red door is an iconic feng shui image. Red relates not only to prosperity and money, but also to vitality, success, and general positivity. But green, blue, black, or a beautiful wood finish can also call in money.

Also important: making sure the door is clean, in good repair, doesn’t squeak or stick, has full range of motion. Look closely to be sure that the entire entry area is as elegant and beautiful as possible.

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #2: Hang some wind chimes.

Wind chimes purify the energy near the front door while calling in positivity and blessings. So as long as you won’t be irritating the neighbors (never a good feng shui strategy), find some wind chimes with a sound you adore. Hang them near the front door to invite more money into your life.

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #3: Close the toilet lid.

Once you get in the habit of keeping the lid closed on your toilet, you’ll never go back.

Here’s why feng shui tells us it’s important for wealth and abundance: the toilet literally pulls water and waste down and out of the room. This downward spiraling motion contributes to pulling energy out of your home. And this corresponds with pulling money and resources out of your life.

Simply keeping the toilet lid closed when it’s not in use keeps blessings and good vibes from getting sucked out.

Not to mention, a closed toilet lid is a much more attractive and hygienic design choice. (I mean, the toilet comes with a lid, so you might as well close that thing!)

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #4: Make sure all doors open easily and completely.

While your front door symbolizes wealth, every other door in your house symbolizes the ease with which you flow through life and accomplish your intentions.

So, to minimize daily hassles, delays, and irritations, follow Feng Shui wisdom by removing anything that inhibits a door’s full range of motion. In some cases, it can also feel better to remove hooks or racks from doors, specifically if they cause the door to feel heavier or more unwieldy.

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #5: Clear your clutter.

Sometimes the simplest tips are the best. Simply clearing your clutter increases your confidence, which in turn gives your success and prosperity a generous boost.

Additionally, letting go of what you don’t actually want creates plenty of space for what you do want. In other words, you create an energy vacuum into which wealth and resources instantly and naturally begin to flow. (Overwhelmed by this suggestion? Here are some places to start.)

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #6: Fix all leaks.

If you have even one leak – anywhere in or around your house – drop everything and fix it now. Or get it fixed.

In Feng Shui, and in life, water is wealth. A leak is both literally and figuratively a leak of precious resources. That’s why fixing leaks will help you save and retain money, rather than watching it flow out just as soon as it flows in.

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #7: Cover Your Drains

Drains should never be black holes: they should always be covered be a grate! This is because a black hole drain is a  bad visual affirmation of wealth and money draining too quickly out of your bank account and life. Luckily, a quick and affordable feng shui solution is at hand: take a trip to the hardware store and get yourself even the simplest of drain covers.

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #8: Have a fountain.

To reiterate, in Feng Shui (and in life), water equals wealth.

As such, a fountain – particularly a round one that flows equally in all directions – is a powerful wealth charm and affirmation of constantly flowing finances. A fountain is particularly wonderful near the front door, indoors or out.

Feng Shui Wealth Tip #9: Have healthy houseplants.

Feng Shui teaches us that the health and vitality of your houseplants mirrors the health and vitality of everything in your life. This includes your money.

If one of your houseplants is struggling, do your best to revive it, and if you can’t seem to do so after a reasonable length of time, give it to one of your houseplant whisperer friends, or release it with love to the earth or a compost bin.

If you seem to have trouble with houseplants generally, you might try lucky bamboo. All you have to do to keep it happy is keep it in bright, indirect light and change the water every week or two.

  1. I am moving soon, into our own first home. I came upon your site unexpectedly and have found it to be so informative. Thank you, I have recently lost my StepDad to a horrible act. I lived here on the property with him. I have decided to sell this estate and thankfully have found a cute farm. I have been through so much in such short period of time that now I am just trying to find some peace. Thank you .
