Visualization can help you manifest your desires and create positive change in your life. And it is absolutely something you can do.
Maybe you think that you “can’t visualize” or “aren’t good at visualizing.”
Actually, not only can you visualize, you absolutely do it every day.
First of all, the word “visualize” is a bit of a misnomer, because visualizing isn’t always visual. It is always sensory. Visualizing often involves mental pictures, but it can also involve mental scents, sensations, tastes, and sounds, in any combination.
Imagine a food you often crave. Let’s say it’s chocolate. When you crave chocolate, how do you know you’re craving it? Because your senses are reminding you of what it’s like to eat it: you can veritably taste it, smell it, and feel it melting in your mouth. That’s visualizing.
When you give someone directions, how do you know what to tell them? Because you mentally place yourself on the route, and describe what you perceive on the inner plane. Again: visualizing. See how good at it you are?
Actually, any time you want something, you are already visualizing it. Otherwise, how would you know you wanted it? Of course, if we don’t actively counteract this tendency, it’s likely this visualization is coupled with the underlying belief or expectation that this desired condition is something that is not within your grasp. If this is the case, the condition will remain on the outskirts of your energy until your vibration transforms into one that is in alignment with what you’d like to experience.
Which is what magic and manifestation are all about.
So while you’re not really a beginner (you’ve been visualizing all your life, after all), to get started with visualizing specifically for the purpose of manifestation, here’s a good place to start:
Sit with your spine relatively straight in a comfortable way and close your eyes. Notice your breath and send breath to any part of your body that’s holding tension. When you feel calm and centered, bring to mind the condition you’d like to manifest. Use your simple desire for this condition as a window into the visualization of it. What is it you want, exactly, and why do you think you want it? Asking yourself these questions will naturally point your mind in the direction of visualizing the object of your desire.
Then, with a lightness and openness, have fun with the condition. Place yourself right in the middle of it. Own it. In your mind’s eye, look around in this reality and sense the details. If it’s a new car you want (for example), imagine yourself parking it at your local grocery store, pushing the lock button on your shiny new key chain, and then finding it again as you come out of the store. Drive around with your favorite music on. Give someone a ride on a sunny day and laugh together at a joke.
When the visualization begins to feel slightly less potent, let it happily fade. Then conjure up a bunch of gratitude to the Universe that this condition is already in your life experience. Really marvel at how lucky and grateful you are for this amazing blessing!
Can you see how this gets you into the vibration of having that car (or whatever it is)? The Universe is pure vibration, so this is powerful stuff.
Visualizations like this are particularly powerful when you repeat them every single day.
