Libra New Moon Ritual for Harmony and Balance
Establish greater balance and harmony in the new moon cycle ahead.
At the New Moon, a fresh new cycle begins. It is a time for planting magical seeds: for choosing intentions, putting things in motion, and setting the tone.
When the New Moon is in Libra, the sun is also in Libra. It’s Libra Season times two! So the Libra New Moon is doubly time to invoke harmony, balance, and beauty: to ask the Divine for them and to call them in.
Here is a ritual to help you synchronize and recalibrate with this powerful lunation, so you can enjoy Samhain or Beltane season with extra clarity, presence, and joy.
In 2025, the Libra New Moon visits us at 8:25AM Eastern on Tuesday, October 21. Perform this ritual Tuesday morning or the Monday night before.

Step One: Take a Magical Bath or Shower
Light your bathroom with candles or other ambient lighting, like twinkle lights or electric candles.
If you’re taking a bath, crush a bit of fresh rosemary between your fingers and add it to your bathwater, along with a tablespoon of sea salt.
If you’re taking a shower, lightly crush a rosemary sprig between your fingers and place it on the shower floor.
As you cleanse yourself physically, feel and sense that you’re cleansing yourself spiritually, too. Imagine tension and heaviness leaving your energy field, dissolving away in the water or swirling down the drain.
Step Two: Dress and Anoint
Lightly anoint your forehead, heart, and belly with a natural perfume oil, a bit of almond oil, or even a little olive oil from your cupboard. As you do, imagine these areas of your body being illuminated with spiritual light.
Say to yourself, “I am cleansed, I am blessed, I am empowered. I am beloved by the Goddess and aligned with the realm of the sacred.”
Choose something clean and comfortable to wear. It can be loungewear, casual, or something fancier, according to what feels just right.
Step Three: Light a Candle
Place a clean-burning jar candle on your altar or a table. Sit comfortably in front of it. Light it. Gaze at the flame and relax as you take some long, deep breaths. Settle into your body as you continue to breathe consciously.
Bring your awareness to the fresh energy of the new moon and all the beautiful potential it holds.
Step Four: Invoke and Visualize
When you feel calm, clear, and centered, hold your hands in prayer pose. Say:
Under this Libra New Moon, I invoke the Great Goddess.
Goddess, bless me with balance.
Bless my mind with balance.
Bless my body with balance.
Bless my spirit with balance.
May I rest when rest will nourish me and play when play will uplift me.
May I offer help to others as I am guided while also recharging myself generously and often so that I am never drained.
May I take care of my body lovingly and loyally, and without harshness, austerity, or criticism.
May I be kind to myself at all moments and in all ways,
Knowing and believing that self-kindness helps me thrive.
[Add any other requests and intentions here.]
Goddess, I know You will grant these sincere wishes,
Because I know they are in harmony with Your will,
Which is always in harmony with the highest and truest good of all.
Thank you.
Notice the resonant hum of joy throughout your being. Feel even more gratitude, and smile.
Sense, once again, the fertile energy of the New Moon. Send the beautiful energy you’ve raised forward into the moon cycle ahead. See it swirling into your future awareness and all of your days.
Extinguish the candle.
Why This Libra New Moon Ritual Works
By attuning to the abundant balance present in the Libra New Moon, you will call even more of it in.
By aligning specific life areas (like work, play, rest, and self-care) with the intention to harmonize, you are sending a clear message to Spirit and yourself. The energy you set in motion will reverberate throughout the cosmos, gain momentum, and come back to you generously, in wave after wave after wave.
